    Damn! And all this time I thought my article was pretty decent! There is a simple fix though. I can just delete every WP plugin and have no social bookmarking. That would be an awesome idea. Wouldn't want to encourage people to share my blog posts and spread my non-validating content all over the web.

    You should, right away. We don't want you spreading non-validated content and infecting the rest of the internet. Shame on you. But if you do plan on being the black sheep, you might want to consider setting up an eCommerce site (maybe to sell underground non-W3C validated scripts).. there is a great store script that I heard of that is completely W3C validated.. so much that W3C validation is the only selling point they offer!
