    And perhaps others could comment here too. Personally, when I find a small web site that's selling something I want or need, I don't go scrounging around looking for a phone number and cross-matching it with the Yellow Pages.
    Well clearly you aren't serious about the business. Because if you were, you'd realize a domain email account comes with the hosting plan - at no extra charge.

    Note: No one cross references telephone numbers with yellow pages or anything like you are suggesting. And, if it only makes "a few dollars a month", and you aren't interested in taking any suggestions to heart, you are wasting our time here. If nothing more comes of this thread it may close shortly.

    Trust issues, aside, I find that the order page is a bit infomercial like as mentioned above, and needs to be more upfront and direct without the mass marketing hype. The WIN sidebar does not need to be there. The page needs to present as though the user is actually there to place an order, not be sold again. Take all the hype out of that page and make it look and feel like you mean to do business, and wish to make it as simple and straight forward for your customer as you can.

    That said, it would mean taking a slightly different approach on the whole. It might be worthwhile setting the product details in a slide presentation, above/as near the fold if possible. Walk the user through it, one screen at a time, and lead them to the close at the end, with a big call to action to your neatly presented and business like order page. With the layout and template you are using, this should be easy enough.

    Well... as a developer I do the occasional e-commerce site for clients that pull in a few million a year... but that's digressing. Actually the site is hosted, with permission, on a server with another site. As such, there's no "hosting plan" with a domain-based email address... at no extra charge.

    I could generate a few business account at Google, but I'm loath to create yet another email address. Perhaps if I forwarded...

    And I am interested in suggestions, such as the ones offered by weegillis, that might help the site pull in a little more than a few dollars a month. But the increase has to come first, before additional expenses.

    Well, good luck and hope you make those few extra dollars.

    Ummmm.... appreciate the thoughts. It is a selling page, and exists to describe what the product is and why they might want it. I wanted it to be friendly and conversational.

    Added that as an additional inducer, like "free shipping" or "get two for the price of one." I could move the "just the facts" block up a notch.

    I guess that's the telling point. People who visit do so off a banner or link. They're interested, yes, but they probably don't know enough to be in the "place an order" mode. It's not a brand name where they already know what they're getting. They have to be sold first.

    I've had a couple of comments regarding the pricing block at bottom of the page, so I cleaned that up a bit.

    Again, thanks for taking the time to comment.

    Thought balloon:

    1. Create three scenarios.

    2. Tailor the manner and order of presenting boilerplate copy as apply to each scenario.

    3. Drive all traffic to one of three conversions:

    a. Buy now;
    b. Product FAQ, testimonials, specs, &c.;
    c. Contact.

    // end thought balloon

    Hmmm... both links seem to work for me. Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.
