Google paying Chrome users to give up their personal browsing data

Do you want to be paid to surf the web using the Google Chrome browser? A new Google program called “Screenwise panel” (first reported by SearchEngineLand) is apparently providing users with that exact opportunity. In exchange, Google requests that you give up your privacy and provide your personal browsing data to Google. There has not been an official announcement, but there is already a signup page available here.

That site also seem to publish ads powered by some ad-platforms that I have not seen before according to a network analysis in Firebug.

First the amount of $ for giving up your privacy is ridiculous. Second, the article notes having to be at least 13. I didn't really think you could enter into contractual agreements unless you were 18 and older. Which actually begs an interesting question. When a minor signs up for an account and agrees to a TOS, I wouldn't think they could actually be held liable and responsible. Seems like a parent or guardian would actually have to agree. Thoughts on that?
