Question What can Microsoft learn from Sony

Some years ago I bought a Sony digital videocamera. Picture motion browser (PMB) and picture motion browser Launcher (PMB Launcher) are the software that follow with the camera. PMB is like Windows Media Player and PMB Luncher is the file import program that is like the Windows movie import (file transfer program). But the difference between the programs is considerable. In my personal opinion PMB is much better and faster than Windows Media Player and PMB Luncher is so much faster than Windows movie file transfer program that it is almost rediculous. Without having compared the exact file transfer time, I estimate PMB Luncher to be between 5 an 10 times faster.

Microsoft make the OS, so it is remarkable that Sony can make so much better software than Microsoft.

Microsoft, you may hire some people from Sony to improve the next version of Windows, Windows 8. I think there is great potential for improved quality and efficiency. Time is money.

Well it's not that uncommon.. VLC is better than Windows Media Player as well.. it's a basic default feature they include in their OS. True, they should be able to make better/faster and easier to use software for their computers.. but seems companies like that are more about keeping the better software for commercial sale and leaving the basic default things free..

But the difference in file transfer speed is so big that you will not believe it before you see it with your own eyes. Have you seen it?

No I haven't. And I don't doubt it's better. I was just referencing that it's not a new thing for 3rd parties to create better software than the OS creators

Yes better, but the PMP launcher is so much faster that it is rediculous.
