Dreamweaver Upgrade - Price Difference in UK

I am about to upgrade my copy of adobe dreamweaver CS3 to the latest 5.5 version.

I went to adobe.com signed in and put it in my cart, cost of $159 (£102). Some error meant I couldnt complete the purchase and it occurred to me I had to go to the UK site. So I did and put the upgrade in my basket only to find that on the uk site it will cost me $238 (£153). I get that VAT tax is added in UK, that accounts for an extra $41 (£26) but even taking that into account it is still more expensive at $197 (£127).

Is there any reason why I cant buy the us priced upgrade that anyone knows of (other than tax evasion laws...), I mean would it successfully upgrade my current version of dreamweaver.... anyone done this?

No I don’t know why there would be an issue with the US site. You are talking about buying a downloadable upgrade, Right?
Try dumping you cookies and saved history from your browser and then try the US site again. It might help.

Yes downloadable update. What you suggested did get me further than before, then the site told me that when I had registered I had registered a UK address so couldnt do it...

So I tried registering a new account using a US address and paying with paypal, but they even recognised paypal was using a uk registered debit card and stopped me at that point.

I think they have me beat and I am going to have to pay up the extra.
