    "Trust" in what respect?

The only thing that I want to be able to trust an SE for is its ability to weed out those sites that pose security threats.

    Have you read Wikipedia: Blekko?

Why is that? Can the relevance of its results be any worse than those of Google?

how many people knows about that search engine 2 months ago . after yse shutdown most of the seo toolbar started to use it as a replacement for checking back links .for an exam seobook's seotoolbar so blekko is just being discussed most for checking backlinks , not for their search relevancy

lol .. i can't comment on google's relevance but definitely blekko is not good at their search result so far . just try a search with query "personal loan" , you 'll get your answer

Well, using it for query strings whose results I am familiar with, I find the relevancy of Blekko's SERPs superior to those of Google.

Unlike most Google users, I deem quality to be superior to quantity.

Is that your opinion? I would assume so base on your response?

Most Google users are in fact your ordinary average folk that have no idea about search engine technology, and the same Google users, at this point, do not care, as they want the results based on past history of browsing the web, analytical data from "cookies", and other attributes which the search engine Google is bringing to the user. Blekko is trying to bring an "unbiased" result, but the fact of the matter, and beyond point, is the average user wants results based upon last internet activity, and blekko in not able to do that.

    [off-topic]

The average Google user is both ill equipped for and undesirous of vetting SERPs. They don't care what is served up to them, just so long as there's lots of it and it's on the table quickly.

And, Google is virtually wholly dependent on ad revenues, such that it has a great want for user data for purposes of tailoring its SERPs and ads to as many eyeballs as possible.

For Google and its user, quantity trumps quality. Google is the WalMart of SEs.

Now, returning to the subject of this thread, which is not Google, but Blekko, ...
