What exactly did you need to pay for? Twitter, after all, is free for all for the most part, and at the very least it would cost you nothing to simply gather some followers to look out for new trends in your business. Also, what exactly is the nature of business? This is an important question because it ties up with your own question. When you know exactly what your business is and what things would work well with its implementation, you'd then know whether or note social media marketing through twitter is worth it.

Yeah and just to hammer the point home, "worth it" can mean many different things. For many people "worth it" can be creating an online presence for your brand and also a culture that goes with it

It all depends on the market category. I haven't found Twitter useful for anything but linking between various social media properties...

Its true... twitter is good platform for getting introduce yourself or new product in friends and followers but in case of social network and creating relation with relevant scope of business people Linkedin is the best....

Is Twitter marketing worth it. I have dulled out some cash for it and was wondering what you guys think of its marketing value?

I have an automated way to post updates to my accounts. As I'm in the coupon industry I have always new tweets and I can update my account after 2 minutes. With this method I also managed to make sales ( directly from twitter ).
So it works.
