    Hello,

Firstly, check that you are running your keyword in which match type (Broad, Phrase,Exact or Broad March Modifier(BMM)). If your keyword is running in exact & your keywords is very rarely searches on google or there might be a problem of Quality Score or it can be due, you are violating google adwords polices.

It's all about how much you are willing to pay with Google.
are you getting the "Below first page bid" notification? under the Keywords tab
you probably need to up your max CPC for google to start publishing your ad.

QS has nothing to do with whether or not an ad may be triggered, but only its ad rank.

And, a violating ad won't even be active, but suspended by Google

Not being triggered is independent of bid, and is wholly dependent on search volume. I.e., it means that the number of impressions is low, owing to not enough search query strings matching the ad's keyword/phrase.

As for "Below first page bid" notices, those are totally bogus. I've seen countless instances of them showing up on listings that are consistently ad ranks 2 to 3.

So you're saying that if one should find a common enough phrase that has no ads, and would create a 0.01 bid for that phrase that ad would be displayed ?

It may or may not, depending on Google's minimum allowed bid of the moment for the keyword/phrase in question.

Really? Did you read the OP's remarks re. the specific message, the one that says "The keyword phrase doesn't currently trigger any of your ads."?

Do you know what that means? Hint: It has nothing to do with bidding.

Did you read any of the rest of this thread?
