Arrow Our latest Endeavor - Be Brutally Honest!

Hey WPW'ers - I know we've been MIA for quite awhile but we're back now. This is nerve racking for me so here goes:

We've never launched a product before, I've always thought they were sleazy "make money online - earn instant cash' you've all seen them, and most if not all are complete loads of BS! That being said we made a legitimate product, no up-sells (I hate buying something only to find out that I need to make 3 more purchases in order to get the whole package) no one time offer crap... just a real product, a real sales page (our first ever) - an affiliate page (to help our affiliates)

All of that said - Here's what I'm looking to find out... does it look good, sound good, is it too long / short / _________ (fill in the blank) If you were an affiliate, do you think that we've provided enough tools to succeed? What are we missing? basically anything that stands out to you... And please keep in mind I didn't write this copy (the production company did).

    http://seo101training.com & http://seo101training.com/affiliates

Thanks in advance! I'm going to have the whole team look at your feedback

    Best,

    David Brown / NeO

Hi Neo- Is iespell a part of your page promotion . (I received a pop up message that said from "web page")

Disclaimer - I have no webmaster traffic so the program is not going to appeal to my visitors.

"Just Send Visitors To Our HIGH CONVERTING Website Through Your Personalized Affiliate Link And GET PAID!… "
My thoughts . . Do I get paid to send visitors . . or do I only get paid If they buy? . . (seems a little deceptive)

The sales pitch seems to be totally directed at making money ( 40%) . I think placing affiliate links on the front page seems to be bypassing every other possible chance of attracting any reader other than those with a desire to make some cash.

There are possibly a dozen other reasons why a website owner would like to direct his users to a download site . . You missed everyone of them. I suspect you will end up displaying your adverts . . Most likely they will not be displayed on sites with any great authority . .

Whoa! What page did you get a pop up on? We don't have any pop-ups installed! *Nice catch!

No worries... I'm not here pitching it - I wanted a review of the site, we just launched it yesterday so I want to catch any screw-ups before we have a lot of traffic headed that way!

The first line right above that says 'per sale' - that's how affiliate offers work - but I can see where you're coming from.

I only posted two pages 1. the pitch page and 2. the affiliate page both have different goals.

    1. The pitch page is designed to sell the SEO 101 Video Training course... period. (unless people don't buy then they can sign up for the free podcasts - so we end up getting more listeners)

    2. The affiliate page (as I've learned in the last week) Is there to 'Support' those that are offering our product (ie: giving them banners / creatives / etc...) I was told by a 'super affiliate' that the easier we make it for someone to sell our product the more affiliates we'll gain... so the only purpose of that page is for Affiliates (really no one else should be looking at the page) I hope that makes more sense to you.

Sorry Tubby, that one confused me... The reason most anything is done online (in one way or another) is to make some money, right? We have a product - we're trying to sell it - so no we won't end up displaying ads on the site, as the site is the ad....

Thanks for taking the time to look at it and give me feedback!

Hey David, long time no see..

Personally, I am not a fan of this type of page even though I know they work.. But then I'm not your target audience.. The video clips show well, and there is certainly a lot of quality in them, nice to see..

That said, I hate the black textured background.. It's vertigo inducing to me.. I'm assuming it is supposed to be a carbon fiber look?

Also, the blue heading text is too light for me.. Could be a few shades darker for me..

    Hey Steve... long time indeed!

I'm with you... I've never been a fan of pitch pages - I was pseudo wrangled into doing this (A production company hired me back in 2008 to fly down and do the videos & use our SEO 101 content) I did it and never looked back, a few weeks ago I was contacted to help launch it... having never done one before we said what the hell... I will say it makes me feel like a total newb all over again

Yes that's carbon fiber btw... Our designer will see this thread first thing Monday morning!

    Thanks Steve

Pimp it on the Warrior forum, you'll make millions

Wish I could be more useful, but like I said, I have never bought a single thing on a pitch page. I just don't like them. But I know they work, just like spam, if they didn't work we wouldn't see them..

OOps. I never noticed the Two urls -

I never noticed the link to the other url either. . Maybe I looked at the page least suited to me.

I suspect readers should be directed to the other page first. . (pitch page - I have not seen it)
I arriving blindly at the second page. . This would not be the preferred route.

If it were my site I would hide the second page . . only make it available from the first page.

That should be happening next week - just wanted to get all the ducks in a row before we do any serious promoting! (that pop-up that Tubby caught is exactly what we need to find)

I agree that selling is the reason for most things on line . . If I had arrived at the correct page first I might have found some reasons to buy. . . But I arrived at the wrong page.

People that sell goods sell them to make money - people that buy these items have a multitude of reasons for buying. . . You cannot ask the viewer to go back and read the correct page first . . . (not this one anyway)
