    E-Book information required...

    Hiya guys,

I'm looking at ebook websites, and I'm seeing that as soon as you buy an ebook you simply are presented with a download.. e.g. like a song on itunes...

So what I'm after is some information on the resale rights, and how you can acquire such resale rights. I'm asking because I've done a bit of research and I'm not really seeing anything that explains this stuff too well.

Any resources, links or general advice would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Darkspark

I'm not an expert on this, but I'm pretty sure you need to contact the publisher directly to sell its ebooks.

I think most people who are in the business of marketing/selling someone else's ebook do it through websites like Clickbank, etc. -- in which case you don't need to aquire "resale rights" to sell the books. As a seller, you make whatever commission the author provides. The Clickbank system itself is pretty slick and efficient, although the ebook market is super competitive, and tends to have a bad reputation from people selling junk to unsuspecting customers.

I agree with everyone above. There is no such thing as resell rights they way you are thinking of it. You either are a distributor who buys wholesale and then pockets the difference or an affiliate that gets a cut of every sale. If there are specific ebooks you want to sell then it will be very easy to find out which method is available if any.

Like everything else you buy (unless you sign you can not sell it), it is legaly yours and therefore you can sell it as soon as you buy it. Just like any other book.

Sorry but that's not true for digital content. You can't buy an Ebook and then start reselling it to everyone else. That's piracy.

I didn't say reselling. I said if I buy a copy, I can sell that one copy at will.

True. But that is not related to the original poster's question which is selling digital books. He doesn't want to sell a personal copy of his book. He wants to be a reseller.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought he just wants to sell his copy.

I agree, that would be piracy or just a plain theft.
