Chrome download history causing me pain

Apparently the default mode in Google Chrome is to IGNORE a request to download a file that already exists in your download history. Of course, the browser doesn't tell you that -- it just makes you think you're getting the new file -- when actually you're not (Argh).

I suppose there's someway to override this...but I can't seem to find anything.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

    Thanks

Having given up on Chrome some time ago, to the point of removing it from all machines that I use or support, the best that I can suggest at the moment is to clear the download history as needed.

See Google Chrome › Help articles › Learn more › Downloads › Clear download history .

Thanks, deepsand. Just curious - what browsers do you like?

At the moment, I'm using FF 3.16 and IE 6, depending on the task, with the latter being heavily favored owing primarily to its stability and small RAM footprint compared to others.
