Looking for a menu with an image at the top of each submenu - can you help me find?

I have a client who has an idea that the main menu will be fairly simple text, a typical menu slider like this one:
    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...smoothmenu.htm

However, when you mouse over a top level category, when the menu slides down, they want an image above the submenu.

    Something like this:
    http://www.toyota.com/
mouse over cars and trucks - then tundra. You can see the picture of a truck then the submenu under it.

So it would be exactly like the ddsmoothmenu but with an image at the top like the tundra, then the submenu below.

Anyone seen this offered, preferably in a cross-browser compatible format?

Can't answer in the affirmative. However, since the DD script is modifiable, could you just write a line to generate the div pre-generation of the rest of the list? Since AJAX is tracking all the events you already have the data pointers you need.

Unfortunately I don't have the programming skills to be able to do that. I either need help or need a canned script with that capability.

    Thumbs up

Here is what I am looking for. The current cool menu looks like this:

What I need, is to be able to add one image at the top of the dropdown, that shows up when I mouse over the top level menu item, something like this:

If there is no canned solution would the smooth nav menu be easy to modify to accommodate this?

One must also use caution with menus. Fancy ones, cool tricks and AJAX tend to be overlooked when it comes to site indexing by bots. So, using a very updated sitemap is wise.

I don't follow. The client wants this and it looks very cool on GM.com and Toyota.com. Is this a spam post?

I have a pretty sweet solution with some help over at dynamicdrive.com for using one of their menus. Thread is here:

No this isn't a spam post. Alistpart has a lot of information on Lists and menus. From what I remember, all CSS. You said you didn't have the programming experience to modify a script. This site has lots of examples that you could potentially use, no scripts needed. I had gotten info from there in the past so it was stuck in my mind.

Plus, I think my history on this site would indicate I don't make spam posts.

AListApart, spam? That's rich. Chris is onto what we hit upon earlier, Hugh. The list. Tackle that and you can tackle most anything.
