This is a great deal for everyone that enters. As long as you get your entry in before the other $800 worth is gone, you've got $25 waiting for you! And if you do a good job on it, you may take $200 for your trouble, instead.

    If I wasn't judging, I'd enter myself!

I think I'll enter this one. I'm in the mood to write a tutorial anyway, so I may as well take a shot at winning a bit of cash for doing so, right? Happened to see a tweet about this, came here, and recognized you two, so thought, sure, why not? I'll work on it over the next day or two, and send it in.

Maybe a little more explanation is in order. A tutorial should be instructional in nature. Typically, it will lead the reader step by step through a procedure. Here's a little explanation from our blog, about what makes an effective tutorial.

And here are a couple of examples of what we mean by instructional:

Okay, folks... the ball is rolling! Donna has submitted her tutorial, How to Convert an HTML or XHTML Template to HTML5 for consideration. Thanks, Donna, you've set the pace!

C'mon, people... There's some good prize money waiting for you.

I guess you can call it a contest if you want, but I'd hope that all the people who send in their articles make at least $25 on the deal.

Why would we do that keyon? The rules of the contest are clearly spelled out above. We are only accepting a total of the best 33 entries. Other entries that are not accepted will not be used. It is indeed a contest. The best entries will take the prizes.
