Darkspark, got it and accepted under novice classification. Thnaks for participating
At this stage everyone who has submitted is going to get $$, and more than expected. We expected a far greater turnout, instead we seem to be seeing the opposite.

Thanks WilliamC, I figured, heck why not just have a bash at it, whilst I await some assistance from anyone who would be capable of handling EXIF data in php. Seems I may be waiting a while for that, and hell, due to the lack of contest submissions, I may have inadvertenly stumbled upon something that killed time, and potentailly earns me some $$ ... maybe a few others should take this approach, and we may all end up a little richer.
Thanks again WilliamC. Happy I could participate.

I send you a PM Williamc, you seem to have hung around these forums for quite some time, so you likely have some ideas.

Okay, as you know, the contest ended yesterday. There was another entry received a couple of days ago, from Lisa Pratto, as well, entitled SEO for Beginners, in the Novice category. I told her that I would take care of posting it here in the thread, but forgot to do so... my bad.
So.... we had only four entries, which was a dismal turn-out for a $1,000 kitty. To Donna, Roy, Mark and Lisa... we really appreciate your participation!
As we had said, the entire $1,000 is being awarded, regardless of whether or not we received all potential entries. With only four, the amounts per contestant rose considerably. The grand prize of $200 became $520, and the general entry prize of $25 became $160.
The winner will be posted on our Lesson Group blog shortly, as well as a brief description of each entry.
I'm sure at the start it probably seemed like a good idea to launch this contest here -- but you might be right to take it "somewhere else" next time around. I think most of us in this forum put a fairly high value/price on our original content -- and are not so eager to hand it over to someone just to make a few quick bucks. That's not being lazy --- that's just being smart about keeping ownership of intellectual property. If on the other hand you were asking people to write about their pets, you'd probably get buried with entries. It's just that you've picked a tough venue, that's all.

Congrats to Donna, Roy, Mark and Lisa, you all stepped up and did a wonderful job.
Keywon: That is a good excuse, but in this case sounds more like: I'm too good to participate, or the dog ate my homework. As I see it, the contest gave people here that are always talking the talk to step up and show the world they could also walk the walk. I have to agree with Doc. As far as I was concerned, the contest was a success in several regards. #1: we hired a long term tutorial writer, and #2: It showed who was who.

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hot diggety dog! I won, I won! Just got the payment, and I'm dancing around like crazy. Awesomeness!!!!!!
It pays to not be lazy, y'all!
Well that's awesome, really. So, yeah...in that sense the whole thing worked great -- as a way to find some writers you might want to work with on future projects. I guess I was a little turned off by the "scolding"you kind of sent out to those who didn't participate. That seemed a little awkward, that's all. Good luck with your project.
