    New TECH/IT job board

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to introduce a TECH/IT job board that we have developed:

    acetiger.com

it's basically just a standard job board (just for US right now) - not like those contract boards, we don't handle any transactions, just find any tech job you like and apply to it

Please post here your reviews/comments/suggestions. We hope it helps people find jobs.

    I have a few questions:

How do you plan to attract traffic?
    Who pays for the click?
What is the unique value proposition to the customer?

    A couple comments:

For me, using Chrome, the destination sites all hung on the "loading" screen, so it's tough for me to say more.
UI is intuitive, but I would consider the option of grouping the results by employer. For example, Best Buy posts many similar jobs. I get vision fatigue looking through all of them. This goes back to the question of why I would use this site as opposed to a more established player in the same space.

hi...it must've been our server was overtaxed with traffic, does the site come up fine now? we are working on upgrading capacity ...

    1) we get a lot of direct organic hits because people like our job board. but we also advertise through banners, expos, conventions, direct mail, etc.
    2) the employer pays for the click
    3) the unique proposition is that it's the first and only ppc job board. ppc is great because you can control your spending, and spend as little or as much as you want on a job. it's very similar to how google adwords works.

Re: 3, I meant what is the value proposition to the end-user. I understand why an employer would get value from the service; but the value you're able to provide to an employer is contingent on creating value for end-users; otherwise, they won't use the site.

My question is, what unique value proposition are you creating for end-users. Why would I use this site when looking for jobs, rather than Monster, or Craigslist, or, for tech, Dice?

oh, for job seekers, it's a great place to find and apply to jobs, and these are not contract jobs like odesk, these are full time full salary jobs. we have many jobs from huge companies like microsoft and adp.

basically a great place to search for a tech job.

i wouldn't say acetiger is replacement for monster/dice. you want to use it TOGETHER with those sites, it's just another tool in your job search arsenal. that being said, the job quality is much higher than any of those sites. monster has way too many ads, and on dice is cluttered with low-quality jobs as well.

Fair enough -- sounds like your pitch is "high-quality, full time jobs" and job seekers don't have to bother sorting through all the low-quality stuff out there on other sites. I'd consider emphasizing this on the site/in your marketing, because as a first-time visitor to the site, my initial reaction is something like "hasn't this been done before"? I'm not saying that it has; but that's my reaction on encountering a bare-bones job board.

So I think I would put some thought into how to emphasize your unique value proposition to end-users, on the homepage. Differentiation in the mind of the end-user is key, along with getting them to the site in the first place.

All this is another way of saying -- if I'm out there looking for a job, I need a reason to turn to you rather than a name with which I'm probably more familiar.

Personally I'm not too keen on the fonts used. There's a few different of fonts, I think a little more consistency would help. There's also the barely viewable keywords sentence at the bottom of the page which makes it look like it is trying to be seen by search engines but not by humans...

I the fact that it clean, minimal and straight to the point. It loads fast which is also a great plus for me. The registration form is also straightforward and easy to fill. I think you need a to add your phone number or IM on the contact page to give visitors another option of reaching you. Great job/concept. Wish you the best.
