Secretarial training? Your graphics are a tad bit off for that. IT training yes, business training yes, secretarial? Not to sure on that.

The whole highlight of the course columns is a little distracting - if the clicking on it was supposed to be differentiated then sure.

The links are a little broken (click in any of the blue areas on the front page).

Content is a tad bit lacking, and makes me wonder if this is really a company I want to handle my training needs.

Layout is nice, just fix that content (consistancy in formatting is a must, if you have pictures on one page, you should have pictures on all pages).

    Secretarial training?
Second that. Although I do know why. There isn't any "I" only "T" and only MS. Information work is what secretarial training should and could be about, if anyone would write a curriculum. But nobody does.

This site calls itself secretarial training but is, in fact, MCSA and MCSE training. This is mispositioned to the market niche. Since the layout supports the standard IT look, I would guess many landing here would conclude they are on the wrong page. Nothing in the body copy supports the idea of secretarial training. The plug image gives it away. Technology skills are, somehow, "business and secretarial skills" without explanation or support in the copy.

Unfortunately as communicating this correctly would be the skills needed from the course, it creates a strange cognitive impasse. Remove the 90s era hyperbole. Be the first on your block to develop an information work curriculum. Add a tagline explaining some unique business proposition.

    Secretarial Training

    Hi,
Thanks for comments, the only reason i was trying to promote this site as a Secretarial Training is that i was told to do so by the SEO company we have working for us. Seemed to word as were in the top 10 listing in Google for keywords 'Secritarial Training'(wrong spelling i know) and 'Clerical Skills'.

But you're all right, its the wrong market place. We do offer some soft skill training, but mainly MS office courses. And are just releasing our new I.T. tech range. So whats our market place? I.T. tech? Soft skills? Secetarial?

    Are you asking?

It is probable you are not the first or only IT training co in your area. One way to differentiate from the competition would be to stress and articulate the "soft skills" which make the tech work.

For years IBM has run variations on a "is this I.T.?" kind of a theme. One had the Chairman and CEO discussing their network. They discuss the reason they installed the network, using every vacuous buzzphrase in the book. You know, knowledge work, networked economy, all the nonsense. The punchline "..Then why am I looking at an email from Sally in our Manchester office telling me she's selling puppies?" (Took a little liberty there)

My suggestion would be to figure out why IBM feels this approach worth backing with tens of millions of dollars. I doubt they are after a small niche. The core idea underlying this may actually stop people from surfing on, whichever focus you decide on. Then develop your course work to specifically and seriously address what you find.
