Question What happened to the icons on the "Smilies" page? (IE)

Previously when clicking [More] under the emoticon smilie list at right a page opened up where you could see the icons. http://www.webproworld.com/webmaster...=vB_Editor_001 That page is now void of any icons in IE6, plus you can't even click anything on the page. It's ok in Chrome and FF. Is this yet another change to block IE6 users? (And for everyone's sake please spare me the IE6 bashing, ).

    Thanks.

I forgot to say that if you go to the direct URL for an icon, like http://images.ientrymail.com/webprow...s/confused.gif they can be seen fine. You just can't see them at the URL I gave in my first post!

It may be a bug in our upgrade we did a few weeks ago. There is another one coming, either later this week or early next week, where we are redoing the templates to be based off the newer vbulletin. Hopefully that may fix the issue you are currently having.

Clint, what version of FF are you using?

Aside from the usual problems with using IE6 here, I'm also seeing strange and inconsistent behaviors under FF5.

The icon problem that you mention had earlier manifested itself; but, seems fine at the moment.

On the other hand, it is, for several days now, not faithfully remembering which links have been followed on either the Settings or New Posts pages.

(I see you edited that first line, LoL). FF5?? What happened to v4? I thought that was the latest you were trying out. I'm using 3.5.17, v3.6 sucks. Since I don't use FF as my main browser I haven't really noticed anything with it here.

I still can't see the icons in the pop-up in IE.

Yeah; might be easier if you just changed your handle.

Mozilla decided to play the Google version numbering game. So, what previously would have become, for example, FF 4.1 is now 5.0.

FF6 is in beta, and FF7 is in alpha, with updates expected roughly monthly, each with a new major version number!

Needless to say, institution IT managers who have to support large numbers of machines, as well as those who have become addicted to a gazillion "can't live without them" extensions, are not happy campers.

The real downside is that any bug that isn't reported in time for the newest alpha being worked on isn't going to be fixed quickly.

There are bugs in FF4 that have yet to be addressed.

But it's my name, you should be able to remember that.

    Google? Sounds more like M$.

Such as myself, although I only use less than 10.

That too sounds like M$. They are becoming obsessed with shoving out latest version after latest version with disregard for stability and usability. Then, like IE6, websites will "extort" us into using the very latest (flawed screwed up unstable) version of FF. This is precisely why so many such as myself (we?) still use IE6.

    Huh?

IE's only up to 9. And, how much time between 6 and 7, and between 7 and 9?

v12.0.742.122. POS Chrome. It's too stupid to even update: "Server error".

Ever look at your Task Manager when it's open? There's a .exe running for every plug-in installed!

Because there are still bugs in all previous versions of M$ products, regardless of time lapsed between. Software versions regardless of vendors, drivers, firmware, etc, etc., no one cares about quality, stability, and features. All they care about is beating the "other guy" with getting a newer version out.

"Ooooooo look, a newer version, an update! Yaaaaaaay. Let's install it!
Oh schitt......WTF happened.....WTF did they do....."
