Websites not using Google Ads, there popularity and busines have gone down!

Someone made a comment on another thread and to save taking it off topic I thought I would start another thread about this comment which was "PANDA Update already have shown google's monopoly, website those were not running Google Ads, there popularity and busines have gone down. " from - http://www.webproworld.com/webmaster...l=1#post574995

I would like to know more about this and what others think of this. I had a number of websites lose a lot of traffic awhile ago, they were all not running adwords. I have tried to use adwords a few years ago but I never enjoyed it so I stopped my experiement before I lost any more money. I do have $100 in my account that was given to me that has been sitting there for a few months. Maybe it's time I use that but I'm sure I would need to spend a lot of time researching esecially now that many people must be experts in adwords and it must be difficult to do well these days.

I would prefer to not use paid search though so what would be some ways to get my websites back up if I decided not to use adwords?

A lot of MFA sites tanked as well, which counters that particular claim.

Have you mistakenly conflated AdWords and AdSense?

The first portion of your post is regarding the latter; the second, the former.

As for AdWords clients enjoying a boost in the organics SERPs, that myth has been around for years now, with no evidence to support the claim.

At the very least, consider why Google would want to increase the probability that a user would click on your organic listings rather than on your PPC one.

Hi, thanks for your feedback, as for this, no I'm talking about adwords 100%. I run adsense on my sites but I'm not refering to adsense at all!

When I said "running adwords", I guess I should have worded it differently.

In that case, since the first paragraph did indeed refer to MFA (Made For Ads) pages, the majority of which are AdSense ads, it's inclusion was unnecessary and confusing.

And, running AdWords listings is not going to improve your organic placement in the SERPs, though it may bring traffic to your site at an acceptable ROI.
