Can optimizing for Bing and Yahoo effect Google PR

Can optimising for Bing and Yahoo, have a detrimental effect on my Google page rank. Has this happened to anyone before?

A quick reading of, for example, PageRank, will suffice to show that Google PageRank (PR) is wholly independent of all but the numerical counts of links.
