Arrow Google And Facebook Partnership - 2014

That is my prediction. I'm looking at it from a few perspectives and of course I could be wrong but if I am, it'll only be the date - maybe I should ask an astrologer.

Anyways, I don't like logging into two places in the morning, do you?

OK I can use Picasa. Feedbuner and even Google Earth with Google products but I can use those on Facebook too! Not vice versa or in other words, I can't use the vast and tremendous amount of products I can use of Facebook on Google or anywhere in my Google account(s). Every product in there is a Google product!

If Google really wants to be as big a player as Facebook in the Social Scene Google's going to HAVE to make some concessions - sorry Giant, Facebook's in town.

    Does anyone agree?

I would truly love one login, one account and who else wouldn't? and especially a public account.

And again, there's the BING problem (to Google). BING's right in there in Facebook search, what a nice place to be sitting day in and day out - you can't go wrong.

So now what? BINGs back in the picture or sitting patiently awaiting something big or some massive opportunity?

That's the way I see it. Google and Facebook need to unit or Google's going to remain a search engine with a bunch of exclusive products while Facebook continues to grow and become the "Sharing Dominant".

These are some of my thoughts for the day!

    Lightbulb Google Facebook partners?

I would like to see the UFC sponsor a 'billionaires match', winner takes all and a fight to the finish between Larry Page and Mark Zuckerfish. (My money is on Larry, choking out Zuckerfish in the first round.)

There. I said it. I do not like Zuckerfish.

On a more serious note I predict Google will leverage the current assets they have in place for a new social venue you could call 'Google Generations'.

For example: 1) Leverage Google Street View assets by shooting memorial parks; head stone, crypts, markers and so on. ( Many parks have client software so this could be used as well for data integration.
    2) Leverage Google Goggles to read the text on same and auto tag.
    3) Make this new app. searchable; any ONLY accessible over Google Plus.
    4) Let people tag these images as well.
    5) Give it a cool name like 'Google Generations'.
    6) Let people use this to make connections like Ancestery.com ( but better ).
    7) Now Google can have ( Google Ancestor Circles ). Users can use this feature to do some quasi - genealogy.

Hey why not? It is social networking from 'Cradle to Grave'.

My guess is that Google's plan is, "Do everything Facebook and Twitter can do, and do it better."

If Google can manage that, and Google does employ a lot of top talent, then the fickle users will gravitate to Google.

Why join them, if you can beat them?

Well that's the problem, they can't beat Facebook and I don't believe they ever will.

I'd reckon a enormous amount of Facebook users don't even know you can have a Google account, they just use Google for searching and that's about it. Most have at least one of their browser tabs open in Facebook, all day and night long, every day of the year (I know I do) and why? Socialism...all your friends are there, live, posting updates, quick chat capabilities - but with Google, it's just Google search and no one sees any of their friends there...Oh unless of course you're signed up and in with Google Plus, but again, no one's really doing that - a lot of Web Savvy people might be but I can't see Google Plus take in nearly the amount of users Facebook does - never will...

Perhaps you are right, I would never bet on Morestar being wrong about anything!

... But just think of the role of the "trend setters". All Google need is a few influential people to try the Google offering, and find it so much better than Facebook that they will recommend it. Then the power of social networking will make sure that the message reaches every single Facebook user!

It's tough to say at this point. It wasn't too many years ago that people were saying that about myspace when Facebook came on the scene. I can't really see them partnering, but if Google does proper marketing and product development in ths social media feild I can see Facebook going the way of myspace within a few years.

I asked my teenager if any of his friends had heard of Google+. He gave me a weird look like, "Dad, you are the biggest nerd in the world!". Can you imagine teenagers trying to get their friends to switch? Google+ is not a cool name. And what is the age limit for Google+, I heard somewhere it was 18. If the kids don't move, their parents won't either.

I believe Google can try. I believe then even have the money to stick to it, but I just wonder if this hill is to high and whether or not they should focus on what made them successful. Search. :O)

Maybe Google will try to lower market value of Facebook and Twitter by generating alternate features to migrate some user niches, panic shareholders and then just buy them out.

Don't forget that Google has actually set sights on MicroSoft and they've also set themselves up as rival to Facebook.. and that MS actually owns a little part of Facebook already.. I would hazard a guess that MS Facebook vs Google will be the upcoming Fight Bill...

Hopefully Google+ or some third parties come up with apps to integrate and share between FB and G+ then you'll see many more use it.. post in one and it's copied to the other.. well might be wishful thinking?!
