    how long after a domain expires can it be bought by someone new?

    How long after a domain expires can it be bought by someone new? I have my eye on a domain that expires in a week.

    While ICANN is presently working on Post-Expiration Domain Name Recovery recommendations, with an 8 day grace period presently proposed, it appears that such is currently left to the discretion of the Registrar.
