    But, with regards to Level 1, was it at least once the case that some links, even if "nofollow," could there be had? Or, was Level 1 always link free?

    I'm level 1 on Yahoo Answers and I can include a link inside my answer, or in the Sources box.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

    If Level 1 can link out, then what, if anything, of material value is gained by attaining Level 2?

    I have seen Yahoo answers for creating the backlinks. Many visitors create backlinks from them. But when I post my backlink in yahoo answer, its showing the text link and not giving the link back to my url. Can somebody tell me how can I create backlink from yahoo ansers.

    Even in level 1, one can insert url both in the answer and source box.
    I suppose the level will be signifying the authority status of the participant.

    What are needed now are facts, not more suppositions.

    Once again, just a piece of the puzzle; and, one that does not clear up anything, but only raises new questions.

    It has already been claimed that Yahoo Answers displays two types of referrals:
    • Hot link - and active hyperlink; and,
    • Cold link - a non-parsed text only display of a URL.

    How does your statement re. temporary "backlinks" comport with such?

    Yes Loveforall is absolutely right that even if you get to level 2 and ur able to post active links to yahoo answers they are useless (asfar as search rankings are concerned) because they are all nofollow links..and he is also right that yahoo answers remove the questions after 3-months once they are solved... There is no official document that declares this but that is what i have learnt from my experience... However, you can use YA for getting quickly indexed by yahoo...

    Care to pull it all together into a complete summary that describes each step/Level, taking into consideration all factors such as
    • Number of answers given;
    • Number of votes received for "best answer;"
    • Age of question;
    • Age of Answer;
    • Other?
