I've been trolling this forum for awhile now and I decided to finally make a post.

I'm 21 years old and I live in Northern California.
The past few months I have been studying php,mysql,css,html and I consider myself 'decent' at programming..

I just launched my website batads.com and if you guys could check it out and offer some suggestions or maybe even post an ad yourself that would be great!.

The OP was asking for a site review. You are posting something completely different. Did you even read the first post?

I can't speak from a "functionality" perspective, but from a design persective, the interface is lacking in colour, graphics and is taking the whole "good use of white space" too far. I'd suggest having a look around at a few other similar sites and get a feel for what you can do to up-scale your index page design then repost. It kinda looks like a word doc which has been saved as HTML. IMO

Be careful about making big claims about your site -- "The #1 Marketplace..."

Besides, since you'll likely never outrank the real #1 marketplace for buying and selling ads (Google) -- why not come up with a good reason for people to choose you instead? That should be your pitch line at the top of the page.
