    I can't make a dime with affiliates! listen to me whine please.

    Ok, this isn't another one of the typical "How do I get started in affiliate marketing so i can quit my day job" type of posts.

    Auto Website Forums - Google & Kontera Work
    I run a small network of automotive websites and one of them will probably get millions of total visitors for this year. I'm already making a decent amount with Google/Kontera and I am very happy with that. HOWEVER, I can't seem to figure this whole affiliate thing out.

    Do Affiliate Deals not Work on Forums?
    Is it just not possible to make money doing affilate marketing on a forum? Do I have to spin off a landing page site just for affiliate stuff? Every time I try to do ads, sponsored forum links, sidebar images, in-line forum posts to an affiliate deal ... I end up maybe making $100/month.

    I'd need to make at least $1,500/month (and with 300k monthly uniques I should hope I could do that) without taking away from the other revenue streams.

    Ideas? Thoughts? want to just mock me, that's fine too.

    The simple answer is, you are doing it wrong.. Passive income from affiliate programs like you are trying to do with banner ads etc has never been a solid source of revenue.. Product sales through affiliate programs is where you have an opportunity to make real money that you can live off of..

    What if I spin-off a page that's built-in using a wrapper, maybe a "deal of the day" and pull in some type of related offer or something like that to keep people coming back. I get good and consistent traffic daily so I could probably even get a good affiliate to do all of the product work for me and I'll just give them access.

    If I could get a list of maybe the top five typical affiliate pages then I could have something to run with.

    That will a good idea: with the deal of the day. Also you can include there: coupons for products.
    Also a section with buy and sell where you place ads with offers from advertisers might also work.
