Alexa ranking is not really very important for your website. If your webpage is having a good page rank or it has a good amount of constant natural traffic, its all well. I have heard that its a flawed ranking as they based their ranking on the number of page views rather than page visits. I always recommend people to forget about it and just concentrate on Google ranking as its a real thing for your website traffic.

How is the use of any ranking tool going affect your rank on any SE?

    It won't; it can't.

It's just an observation tool; nothing more.

    1. Alexa ranking is not important (Its just a count of page views from the audience that have Alexa toolbar installed in their system)

    2. You don't need to hire someone to this, when you can manipulate these rankings yourself (Install Alexa toolbar in your website, visit your website regularly and ask your friends to do so... You Alexa rankings will start improving)

Gone are the days when all Alexa provided was page hits.

A bit of research will reveal that in depth analytical data have been available for some time from Alexa.

Didn't bother to read the OP's question, did you?

Posting for count is not going to work here at WPW.

You aren't going to get very far with a couple of users. You would need hundreds or thousands to make a real difference.

Does that alter the fact that Alexa Rank is based on a biased sample, and that one can manipulate it by manipulating the sample population?

Yes it does. Who cares if you reduce your Alexa rank from 8,600,000 to 8,546,000. You wouldn't have much effect on a site under 10,000.
