Cardinality and Existence with ERDs

Is existence independence and dependence of an entity affected by the cardinality of the relationship? I have look for a bit to answer this question to no avail.

Well cwilliams, I feel that the cardinality of the relationship will NOT affect the dependent or independent entities.
The design of your application is up to the mark. But I would like to suggest that try the same as a Ternary Relationship for the sake of modularity and reduce coupling.
Like Students 'REGISTER IN' Course. Introduce a relationship entity 'REGISTRATION/CLASS' here, having Student ID and Course ID as composite key because 'REGISTRATION/CLASS' will occur as the students register in the course.
