Question Ranking Reports For Google Places

So far I have found one piece of ranking software (Eduki) that claims to list the rankings of their clients if the site is a Places listing, but I'm wondering if this change and declaration is necessary.

Currently I use WebCEO to check rankings and so forth, I'm sure there are rank checkers that offer different features and functions but for now, it works for what I need it to. But with that, am I safe to assume that I'm not getting accurate results from it now?

Are Places listing in the SERPs not counted in ranking software?

Do a web search that shows places listings. Run the software of your choice. Compare the 2.

I recently rank the web CEO rank checker and it did not pick up my clients Google Places ranking.
But doesn't the Google Places Rankings move around in unpredictable ways?

All listings, places or not, move around in "unpredictable" ways... based on DC, GEO locations, etc.

true, but it seems to me Google Places listings will move in more erratic ways. Like gone for a few days, then back again, as if Google is rotating them. Just curious about that...

Sooner or later the others will have to follow Eduki and report Places listings.

    The Google Places Shuffle

Yes, Google Places listings seem to bounce around erratically. They go from 3-4 listings at the top of the SERP to 3-4 in the middle. Then they'll switch to 5-6 listings split up with some organic listings in between Places listings. The number of organic rankings on the first page varies too: it's not always ten listings anymore.

I've even had one query return an entire page of nothing but Google Places listings.

I sure wish Google would make up it's mind about this!

Ya I've seen that too. It's not that easy to "generate" a Google Places search result either. I also wonder why, in ranking software, a Google Places listing wouldn't naturally be deemed a rank. I guess the code surrounding the Places listing is different so indeed the ranking software companies need to edit their code to recognize them.

I also use Rank tracker of Link-Assistant.Com, it was giving 98% accurate ranking of all search engine(which we choose during searching process-Google, Yahoo, Bing...) but i think some times it is also counting google palces when we check the ranking mannualy in google and compare it with rank tracker ranking report
