Need your help for WP bloggong

Hope this is right place to share problem I have.

    Hi friends,
    I need your help.

About a year back I bought a domain and started a blog with WP theme there. I kept the url like blog.domain.com and added good number of content. Actually I had a plan to start own website with own design but due to lack of time and money I could not able to make my website till today. And now I am thinking to sift my blog direct to my same domain.com. So there would not be word "blog" in my url.

    And my questions are:
    Can I do that?

Will this create problem in SEOing and Ranking?

Let me know if you have any confusions.

    Your help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

yes you can - you can export - import the blog into the new location and 301 redirect all the URI to the new ones. 301 redirects should keep your rankings, according that the new page is actually similar to the old page.

    XML Sitemap

You may also want to make sure you have an XML sitemap and submit that to webmaster tools when you switch over so that Google picks up all your pages under the domain.

There might even be plug ins for word press that will help you do this. Have you got the site set up under your domain without the sub domain? If it's in the root directory already, all you have to do is edit the settings for your site to point to the domain and not the sub domain and word press might even do some of the work for you.

Then make sure you have your 301. This is all off the top of my head so forgive me if something is a little off.
