Which Is Better for Seo: Press Release or Word Press

    hey all (merry christmas)

is there any difference....seo wise...between a "Press Release" found here worldsbestathlete.net vs a blog ...Word Press?

I've had both for a few yrs now and both do well (the Press Release is on a site though that does not compete for a very competitive search term: "worlds best athlete" while the World Press blog pimps out on a site that competes for extremely competitive searches....eg..."vancouer painters" etc.......just wondering if there is a specific advantage that one has over the other

    thanks ahead of time

I am using both press release as well as word press and I would prefer press release for SEO. One sure-fire way to get your business known is by using press releases. A press release is written material that announces a news type event. Press release is a recorded or written communication directed to members of the press. People are now more interested in the news anytime and anywhere.

To me, this is a bit unfair question. A Press Release is a one and done type of deal compared to wordpress is a blogging platform. This is almost the same analogy as "give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach him to fish, he eats for a lifetime."

I'll take wp every day since I can continually repeat the process to accelerate my website. The PR would be a nice shot in the arm, but after that initial boost in traffic and awareness, what else have you gained?

I think the OP is a little confusing. If I have it straight, the site in question is picking up press releases and publishing them.
This site is a news aggregator, right?

It would appear to me to be publishing content that others have written and posted elsewhere. Duplicate content, as it were.

You are not sending out press releases, are you? You are publishing them, right?

Could you explain a bit more about your objective with this site? Is this site just something to send links to your vancouver painting site? And are you asking whether you should be publishing the same material but on a wordpress platform instead of whatever this is?

Ok. let me ask it another way since i wasnt as clear as i could have been. the site www.worldsbestathlete.net is just a personal site of mine....nothing to do with my business. it has what appears to be a type of blog....but it says "Press Release" in the header. its not nearly as complicated or impressive as Word Press (that I use on my business sites). I was just wondering if google gave the so called Press Release more credence by virtue of the words: "Press" "Release"....in the header

Please note that its not truly a press release in any way shape or form in that i dont send anything at all the press. hope that all makes sense....tx

I think ra is trying to promote his site. Isn't that everyone's goal? To ra, my suggestion is to continue writing and submit them to various press release sites, preferably with high PR, AND continue with your blogging and keep them fresh.

Now, I may be confused again, as I don't understand what your question has to do with wordpress. But if I understand this question, the answer is Google will not give your site any credence at all based on those two words. In fact, since there is no other content that matches, it could be a negative.

If I am understanding the question correctly, the answer is neither, and both. They are both simply content when they are on your own site and can be optimized equally well for a given keyword or set thereof. Or more simply put, no difference at all.
