Is there anyway to change our control panel to direct to our .com or correct this in a different way?
Of course you could do this and other things provided that you are managing and in control of your website.
I think your problem may be that you bought a "package" deal where the web design company is providing everything, domain names and dns, site design, hosting, email, etc. As a result, you are totally dependent on that company and may not have the control that any website owner should have.
Do you have FTP access? If so, I recommend backing up your site(s) locally. Who owns the design? Could you change hosts and keep the design? Who owns the domain names? Could you change registrars if you wanted to? Could you keep your domain if you changed hosts? Could you use a different designer at your current host?

If it's the same name as in your signature, the whois records for the .net version indicate that it is owned by the web design company. That isn't good. You should look into owning it.
I also noticed that it was just renewed yesterday. Perhaps there was a brief lapse where the hosting redirected the name because it hadn't yet been renewed.
    Thank you Dean,

We do have a separate account and control panel for our domain. Thank you for looking in to this. I did not know my host owned the .net

    Thank you William,

We changed to a private server about 3-months ago. I will check out our options. There has to be an easy fix. Will check to see if linking to the dedicated IP address will work.
