Yeah...I love looking at screenshots of old browsers. The slide show on TechRepublic is a bit clunky, though.
I thought this page did a better job:

That's a nice display as well, though less inclusive.
Of particular note is that IE6 is there rendered only in XP style, even though the Classic style is available.
As a web developer I can only go as far back as IE5 although to this day IE6 still remains a pain in the rear. I haven't downloaded IE9 yet but I will come to that as soon as I am able to have it with other versions 6, 7 and 8 in the same system.
The slideshow by techrepublic.com is really clunky.
I what way is IE6 a PITE?
You do that IE9 requires Win7, do you not?
How accomplished?
That owes to its being incorporated into a discussion forum, rather than being a stand-alone item.
How do you know which version is which image?? None of the images are labeled when you hover the thumbs, or when you click them.

If you click on an image, you will see descriptive text below it.
I see that, but like I said it doesn't say which browser version is depicted in the screenshots. In my example above, it only says: "With the developer toolbar, you can clear the browser cache, disable images for the current page, and delete cookies (including session cookies) from the current domain by hitting F12." But which IE is that?
Take another one at random:

Below that is "A demo". But a demo from what?
it runs through them in succession, so start from the first image is ie1.. image 7 introduces ie2 etc etc
