I'm one of the many who can't wait to see it. My plan
is to go Sunday 1st matinee hoping it won't be so full.
Wonder how Geek Filled the theatre will be

I'd like to see a story, print at least, about Phil Katz, the creator of the original Zip algorithm. I exchanged numerous emails with him, personally, in the early 80's, when he was fighting SEA Technologies over the .arc file extension and even contributed to his legal fund when he sued them. I think I bought PKZip in its first week of official release and still have the 3.5" floppies =and= manuals around somewhere. Hell, I may still have 5.5" floppies of it!Truly sad end for the creator of one of the most unknown and widely used software technologies.

I'm not sure how seedy and interesting (or not) the background story is on these guys, but they certainly qualify in my mind as internet monoliths. I'd pay $10 to see a movie about any one of these guys:
Early monoliths:
Leonard Kleinrock -- packet switching
J.C.R. Licklider --Galactic Network
Later monoliths:
Larry Page -- Google
Jerry Yang and David Filo -- Yahoo
Jack Dorsey -- Twitter
Pierre Omidyar -- ebay
Jeff Bezos --amazon
The funny thing is that I've seen plenty of films and documentaries about industrial revolution giants - like Carnegie, Rockefeller, Morgan, and Ford -- but not so much about the internet giants I've listed above, who are likewise responsible for some pretty profound changes in our world.
Do the best you can - as fast as you can - then fix it later.

I saw the movie this weekend. It was very good. Very quick and witty dialog.
Good day ladies and men who are gentle - I've posted an update with a review of the Social Network movie for all or any who'd like to share it and respond to it with your reviews.

I could really care less. I might watch it when it comes out on HBO, but other than that, I definitely will not make a concerted effort to see it.
just saw it today. wow. almost considered never using facebook again but no that isn't possible. lol
I saw it twice the first week it was out. The first time I went by myself and then 4 days later
dragged a friend along. I loved it both times. I think Zuckerberg is both sometimes arrogant and sometimes brilliant...okay always brilliant.
Like him or not the movie was fascinating and he definitely changed the way the world socializes. ?My Space Who?
