Looking for a Reliable SEO

I have a new website, WWW.MUSCLESGALORE.COM, and I heard that the best way to get our name out was to use a SEO. Can anyone help me out?

Honestly, you can do it your self by visiting Webproworld, you will learn a lot. Also the World Wide Web is a huge source of information about SEO.
But if you don't want to waste your time then type SEO or any keyword related to it in your search engine to find one. Read their policies about garanties, compare prices and the most important is check their feedback (real testimonial with website URL and keywords as proof of their professional SEO work) Be aware of people saying they are Expert and promise what they can't offer.
If you feel you were deceived by an SEO in some way, you may want to report it.

It is a sad fact, but it is true.

It is hard for the relative newcomer to seperate the fact from the fiction. The best thing to do is to educate yourself about finding a qualified SEO first by reading articles like the one at Google and participating in discussions like this one.

Take what you learn and start looking for some likely candidates either by looking for them via search and/or getting referrals from reputable individuals.

As steventeva also said, a good SEO will have a lot of your questions posted at their sites and not leave too much mystery about it. They will have references just as if it were a resume of sorts also. Check the references out for what they are capable of and check it for validity.

yes, i would ask for references. any good seo would have other client sites they could show you as examples. the best way to find a good seo company is to validate its track record.

I agree with the forums being a good place to find information. But don't quote me out of context and misconstrew my statement Janeth.

My comment was made in direct contradiction to your statement "just start emailing people and see if you can find one you like." This is the last thing you would want to do.

The second part of my statement regarding the so-called experts in forums, I did not say. I was quoting someone else (look a little closer). I just happened to agree with it and offered my view about it.

But since you did bring it up ... I do not agree with your opinion that they just pop-in and disappear after a while -- they are still around and I see them every day.

We used MoreVisibility, and so far I've been pretty happy with them.

Many SEO companies will charge 15-20 grand just to go through your pages and redo your meta tags, and hand submit to a few engines; that is a total ripoff. You could pick up a book at Barnes & Noble for 50 bucks and spend a couple days and do it yourself.

When all was said and done, I think we paid about $3000 for them to review our site and set us up with their XML feed program. They gave us a comprehensive report on what needed changed, and we implemented the changes. That was fine with me, no sense in paying someone else several more grand to just change some text around.

Then they worked with us to prepare a speadsheet of the top 25 keywords we should target, the page we wanted them linked to, the title, description, etc... From what I understand, they then provide this via some kind of XML feed directly to many major search engines (not including google).

We get charged a flat rate per click on all the keywords, there is no bidding. There also seems to be MUCH less click fraud through this system, and most of our listings from them show up in the regular search results, not PPC areas. Our monthly click thru costs are generally half of what we spend on Google.

As an example, do a search on AskJeeves for "online degrees" and we are #1. Do a search on MSN for "online degrees" and we are #6 (this varies throughout the day as MSN seems to switch their results at different times of the day).

I wouldn't call their service miraculous, but so far it has been very helpful to us, and worth the cost - considering it's very easy to drop even more money in a month on PPC campaigns that provide much less roi and alot of false traffic.

Mine was suppose to go together it should have read to look around the different forums find some SEO people you like and start emailing them until you find one you you want to do busines with.

Most people that do not know what there doing and are just her to scam people will not be here very long as the people they scam will run them off.
