Looking for kind of an auction plug-in, but not exactly.....

Would like to have a site where anyone can post items for sale, and if they sell, allow the site owner to collect a % of sales. Kind of like eBay, only with "Buy Now" items only. WPAuctions is close, Prospress is closer, but nothing is exactly right.

Ideas? Would love to keep it in wordpress if possible.

Sorry, should have been more specific.

Well, for one thing, it's in beta. I might give it a try anyway. Ideally, I'd like to be able to allow the site owner to collect a percentage of sales, the way eBay does, aside from, or instead of, a listing fee. Also, I can't tell if you can set it for "buy now" only or if there is a way to charge a listing fee.

WPAuction is great, but it allows only the site owner to post items for sale.

You are talking about Paypal though right?

You should be careful though using Paypal, as my Paypal account was illegally accessed last few days and someone set up a load of subscriptions and changed addresses etc, in my account. Which is was no big problem as I simply closed the a/c and had the fraud investigators look into it and I can simply set up a new one.

Paypal is the most secure way (imo) to pay online, as your purchases are insured that way and their legal team is ready to assist with any such illegal access.

I mean you simply need to get a paypal account and insert their secure code into your WP blog

Not quite. I need to allow other people to place items for sale on this site and to collect (from them) a percentage of the sales they make. Not just a simple PayPal "Buy it now" button.

I have a few for you as I have looked into this before. It's been a while so I can't remember which one does what you are asking for but possibly all of them do.

I've installed the above referenced GeodesicSolutions (http://geodesicsolutions.com/) application and recommend it. It's not a wordpress plugin but can be themed to match your wordpress site. I'm not clear as to your exact sales price split model when you say "collect from them (the seller)" a percentage of the sales they make. Do you envision having the seller's credit card on file and charging it periodically?

You'll find GeodesicSolutions' application to be very flexible as it supports both an auction mode (with "buy it now") and a classified ad system which is really what a "buy it now" is.

    Good luck!
