Hi WebProWorld Flash Forum Members!!!
It's time to get your motors running and get to work! We are announcing a new Flash contest from WebProWorld. That's right! Since we had such a great time with our last contest, Brittany and the rest of the crew at WebProWorld have put together a new contest with some great prizes. Check below for further details and find out how to enter!
==============================================
WebProWorld Flash Animation Contest:
Project: Storyboard style animation.
Examples: Short story, movie trailer/teaser, music video, etc.
File Size: Maximum of 3MB
Duration: 2 - 5 minutes
Objective:
The objective of this contest is to show Flash's ability to convey a message or stimulate an emotion. The challenge is to create a short story, movie, trailer or teaser, music video, etc. You are free to choose your own topic for the contest.
The restrictions are pretty light: The Maximum file size for this contest is 3MB. These movies should be posted on your server with a link in your post directing the viewers to your entry. If you take a look at www.shockwave.com, most Flash animations are around 2MB.
The animation should last between 2 -5 minutes. The average Flash movie lasts between 3-4 minutes so this is a good range to shoot for.
No overly graphic violence, graphic sexual content/pornography or profanity will be accepted. All entries must be submitted to our Brittany or to one of the two moderators of the Flash forum, J_Paul or ghstdrgns, for approval prior to listing it in the contest thread. You can do this by simply emailing them or sending them a PM via the WebProWorld Forums.
While we do not accept self-promotion in the forums, you are allowed to post your personal or company credits at the end of your animations with links to
your site.
To be eligible, all entries must be submitted no later than June 7th, 2004 at 11:59 PM EST - that gives you one month from today to create your animation!
Projects will be judged on the use of animation, element design and how the elements are used in the animation piece, proper use of movement based on the design style of piece, and use of sound, music and voiceovers. Note on Music videos: We would suggest using original music or something not published by a known recording artist.
We understand that everyone's drawing and animation styles are different; so if you can only draw stick figures, then animate them. Have fun with this contest. It is time to shine as an artist and animator.
