I have been using facebook lately and I have found myself typing the odd search term into the search box. I have noticed a good number of websites that have created a web presence in Face book.
If a trend is followed where website owners decide to FBSRO (Face book search result optimize) then more facebook user will be tempted to take a look in the facebook searc option. It is no harder to type the search term 'Chicken recipe' into a facebook search than it is to type it in google or Bing. .
If you are a guy or gal with over 100 relatives on facebook the chances are you will give it a try.
If Facebook users start searching wider topics I guess that is the signal to enter into the search market. I suspect it would not be a matter of competing. . Facebook seems intent on fulfilling the users needs. ( A novel idea and it might just work)
It has always been human nature to take notice of your freinds. . friendship sells big. I wonder how a search result for "Chicken Recipes" would be affect by a little note saying, "your uncles Ben and William and your mother and sister like this recipe best"
Google search is not safe - Bing search is not safe - Facebook is not safe - Nobody is safe from what the users want.
