    So far So good.

I am getting New York Visitors, about 5 a day for around 23 cents. (MAX budget asked for $1 per day)

During the last five years my New York traffic has been incidental, that is someone finding my site doing a search for say 'Chevrolet parts ' just happened to live in New York.

I have changed the landing page To a New York page, and Now I am considering re building the New York section. Previously, incoming adverts were taken from the year make and model pages and placed in the correct state as a sort of by product . .

The visitors arriving from Face book are of good quality and several have posted adverts. not good adverts but enough to give me direction, and to tell me they are the right people.

I am very pleased with the results so far happy with 23 cents. It comes in nicely for my budgeted $1 per day - Good quality visitors.

I will need to upgrade my New York page to cater more for local users.

In the mean time my logo is getting shown - that has a value. recognition builds trust.

So far I am very pleased with Face book adverts. I will get more benefits when I learn to cater for State specific Visitors. (more learning)

Are you ready to add some twitter traffic in there as well?

No Janeth - I like things slow and steady - I have never had people arriving through the 'States' pages. Basically I simply sorted all the incoming adverts into states and placed them in their own section. . Up to this point it was always a half hearted effort as my main emphasis has always been on the make of car.

Slow and steady will be fine . . . If I can work out what will keep New yorkers coming back to a 'New York' page instead of Ford or Dodge page I will be a little bit smarter.

I have very limited spare Time Janeth. I am one of them silly webmaster that hate extra traffic. I merely like traffic to flow Gently, I only need to pick up new users on a steady steady basis.

the current page I am directing Facebook traffic is here I think I need to upgrade the New York content. Basically it only has content scraped from my other sections. (self scraping)

it's a great idea to tap on facebook since the traffic it's getting is huge. Many people will have a facebook account and it's amazing how fast it has grown. A good place not to be missed to get traffic from.

That's the great thing with Facebook though is that it spans the generations. Everyone from children to senior adults currently have facebook pages. That's many potential customers to market your product or service to...not to mention it is targeted. I like the fact that you can really pin-point who you want to see your ad...good luck on future ads!

    Janeth,

Thank you for your Facebook thoughts. I'm considering dabbling with it some more simply becasue I have clients asking. We've done tons of PPC but our limited experiments with Facebook have been, well, limited. Seems the image make a huge differencce in drawing people in; we just couldn't get the conversions we needed. We probably just need more time at it. The Facebook "demographics" system wasn't useful for the last product but maybe if we had the right product/service Facebook would be perfect. We'll see with the next experiment.

I read in a thread on how to get more traffic from twitter,
anyways, the website which the traffic is directed to matters the most, if the content is worth reading you will get traffic from other sources as well.
