We'll have to look into this a bit I believe, as I believe it's time for me to customize a Youtube.com account.
From what I've gathered, the ability to customize your channel like that comes from being a part of the partner program but don't quote me on this.
I'm going to jump into my account now and so what I can do...

OK for starters I found, once logged into my Youtube.com account that I can edit my channel quite a bit.
I was even able to set a new background image under the Themes and Colors Tab.

Geez, that link you posted is really nice looking for a Channel. It seems to have it's own set of links too. It's got it's own tabs, namely the Past Matches and Highlights. Plus the nice little channel has a navigation menu from News to Fan Zone that link back to his main site.

I mean come on!!! How does one do this??

I have to search, I did and found this G-d-sent article on Mashable on how to customize your Yourtube.com channel.

I scrolled down and found the area where it seems to show us how to add our own custom content.

    We shall see...

I'd give you more rep points, morestar, but I need to spread some around. You are so helpful!

I just checked my channel, and while I can see how to go a long way toward customization, how to customize as fully as the example you gave was not covered.

I am sure morestar will come back with some tips, but in the meantime, sometimes it's best to go to the source for help. I didn't find all that much in the Help section at a quick glance, but I did see that they have a forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube?hl=en. I think I would post your question there.

When you find the answer, will you please come back and share it with us; perhaps with a link to the thread there? Thanks!!

OK well that Mashable link was a tad useless. I went through it and couldn't find out how we can actually add our very own custom navigation as is displayed in your link Susmita...

Look at this 4oD Youtube channel. Notice the top navigation from Comedy to Lifestyle.

How do they get those custom links up there which in their case links to other Youtube channels?

And now I found you can add a Youtube channel widget to Facebook FBML.

    This is getting hectic...

Alright I think we found the page that clarifies it all for us.

On this other Mashable page about building your personal brand on Youtube, under Channel information we find:

Most people don’t know that there are different types of accounts you can choose on YouTube. If you’re an expert in your field, then I recommend selecting the “Guru” account type because you can use a custom logo and add links...
    .

So it's a matter of being able to choose the right account type. If you chose the Guru account type you'll be able to add a custom logo, genre and links on your profile page.

Can we edit our current page to make it guru?

Yes. After clicking on my user name at the top right hand corner of Youtube and selecting the My Channel link and then selecting the Settings tab, I was able to change my account type from whatever it was to Guru. Great.

I couldn't find where to add custom links though...

Apparently I must use the new inline editing UI to edit my channel?
