Like Tubby, I usually use Advanced Mode, but then, I tend to reread my posts, before submitting, to be sure I'm saying what I meant to say.

Somewhat like speaking directly with someone... words released, can't be recalled, so it's best to get it right the first time.

As for changing fonts and colors throughout my post... meh! Better to leave something to the imagination of the reader.

Besides, there are ample other reasons, MUCH more impactive to us all, to be less than pleased with our recent "upgrade".

Puts me in mind of going from XP to Vista.

It was at this point when the realisation attacked me. The evil in me took priority. The words Of Williams Shakespeare ' The Bard of Avon' rang through my ears.

" He who clicks the sending button cast not aspersions on the software that delivers - The errors that man 'sends' may stand as reflections upon the moon light lake to all that gaze"

That might no be the exact wording - but that is how I recall what the great bard wrote.

I offered up a green token of friendship for balance.

P.S. It is pleasant to have Doc visit us in these Dire times. .

In this twitter-all world, it seems nothing really matters once five minutes have passed, and even if it did, or still does, it pales against what is scrolling down the pike. Seems that forums have caught up to Twitter and demand up to the minute reflection and response or suffer the same fate as posts of old (fade into the dimly lit outer edge of the ether).

Upon quick reflection of the OP's presentation style, I'd suggest it might be best to put aside the fancy formats and stick to plain text. That way one can focus upon ideas and not emphasis though visual devices like color, font size and font weight. If these things are important, then all you can do is check your work before publishing.

For the record, on the previous install of the forum software the edit post time was 5 minutes. Having said that, I've went ahead and bumped that up to 10 minutes.

I find that 5 min. is quite enough to reread your post and edit it if there's smth wrong. And now it's been boosted to 10, so there should be no edditing issues at all.

I go back and edit the post only if there is some grammatical error.
The other reason is to update the content by providing resources.

Please! I am hoping that nobody will notice that my visits seem to coincide with dire events! (and it IS pure coincidence, I assure you!)

Many's the time that it's taken longer than that for WPW's server to respond!

I might just give you some green rep for an original concept.
Enough with these greenies, think of the back lash. You may have just triggered a swarm of forum users all working this angle. Poor Rah et al. will be in over their heads with blame ;D

Awww, but this one likes 'is long posts and threads. And for those people that just like to skim, I try to make it easier. I've seen far too many posters not even read half the posts above theirs.. this is infuriating (at least for me), but it's sometimes understandable. So, I try to solve this with an erupting splat of colour here and there

This belch of colour is done for users. Oh my efforts.. all my work, my blood and sweat wasted on the meek. Mah, if it helps at least one skimmer it's not been a complete waste of time

oowf.. I spend all day doing this. Trust me, if you consider what you're reading now is the final product, think how it sounded before!

Yeah, we're all embarrassed of the odd typo / spelling mistake... But we're not the only ones that get embarrassed about this.

If you had 2 sites with the same set of parameters (content size/ relevance / P-bliming-R), would you rather have one returned to you with typos or the one without? Going back and updating the typos is not only considerate for users, but those creepy crawlies too.

So yeah ... Time extensions for updating, whey hey!

    Cheers ears
