What could we improve?

I've been working on our website for quite a bit since I joined this forum. We didn't have any ALT tags or anchor text or basically anything that would get our PR up a bit. My question is, what more can I do? I have the feeling I'm missing something. I've ran the website of our website and some our competitors through this analyzer: http://www.1-hit.com/all-in-one/tool...ine-viewer.htm and they all have way to many meta tags, or no meta description, very few links. But they do rank higher in Search Engines, and I'd like to know what they are doing better or different?
