    page rank

How do you find your page rank? I've read so much about PR4,OR whatever their number is but I don't understand where they get this info? Thanks.

    PageRank

PageRank is a feature of the Google toolbar, and gives a quick indication of the value/importance that Google places on a website. The ranking system is from 0 - 10. A new site that hasn't been indexed or evaluated by Google would be a PR0... WPW is PR6 I believe, which shows we must have some pretty relevant content here, as well as plenty of inbound links! The only site I've seen with a PR10 is Google.com - perhaps understandably so... I'll let others decide on that! ;o)

You should note that the Google PageRank system is not the same as a site's ranking in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). Anyway, I'll move your post into Search Engine Discussion, where you may get further useful information.

    Hope that helps,

    Paul

    Page Rank

Thanks Paul. The same question was posted in the discussion forum and craven told me about the toolbar. I thought I was doing something wrong but now you tell me that a site that hasn't been indexed or evaluated by Google would be a PR0 so maybe that is my problem. Is there something I have to do to get Google to look at my site? I have submitted to search engines and I know it takes a while so maybe I'm just being impatient? lol\

Your page is indexed by Google and is showing in the ranks. To get higher PR (bigger than 1 because only these values are shown in the toolbar) you just need to get more links, preferrably from pages with high PR. Assumign you get them and they will be indexed by Google, you should observe an increase of your PR after the next Google update (the last one was few days ago, so it's difficult to predict next one - maybe few weeks).
