When i click to run command and conquers, a pc game, my firewall (comodo) blocks it saying a milicious file has been found and wont let it run, ive scanned the folder its in 3 times with 3 seperate anti malware/anti virus software and theyve found nothing, is my firewall being overprotective? should i uninstall it?
Should i uninstall one of the two anti malware programs i have? I have malwarebytes anti malware and iobit malware fighter.
Im trying to get my computer smooth and de cluttered, for a year i had only antivirus so i found a few pieces of malware when i got the malware programs (they both found different things) The firewall seems to be causing me problems though. Should i just axe it?

Comodo Dragon Firewall
Malwarebytes anti-malware
Norton and mcAfee security scanners (not paid, but i figure they can still detect things and tell me if i have problems i need to deal with)

I still have tracking cookies i dont know how to deal with, and pop ups on sites without pop ups sometimes. Iobit also just recently told me i had a threat aswell but maybe its just being overprotected, I did full scans just the day before and nothing showed up.

I down loaded a video downloader and found out it is considered a browser hijacker I tried deleting it from the control panel and from my files but can't get rid of it. It's called speedbit video downloader. Anyone ever heard of it, or had the same problem? I've looked on the internet and found out how to delete it but I've already tried them all. The only advice I found that wasn't the usual advice is to technical and complicated.

Hi! I just found this site with google and really enjoyed reading the posts. I have a situation that I need help with - I will add my post to the massive pile of posts on this forum :) Please feel free to move it to another area if it is not appropriate here.

I am an English teacher in China and would like to start doing some business on the side. I would feel more comfortable doing the business if I could provide a greater degree of protection for my home computer but still be able to access my home computer when I am away from home. To this end, as well as for a couple of other smaller reasons, I would like to set up a computer with Linux installed - I believe there are some versions of Linux written especially to facilitate a firewall. I realize that there were be a rather stiff learning curve involved in this but a part of the reason for doing this is to learn more about security. I also want to install an app on this computer to be able to sync all of my Firefox bookmarks to, want to use it as a print server and a few other simple apps. I welcome any comments or suggestions you have about this idea.

The second idea/question: I subscribe to a VPN. If I install the VPN on this server and connect the rest of my computing devices to this server can they all make use of the vpn? My vpn service says no but I am not sure if that is because it is impossible or because they want to sell me a more expensive service. :-x

Reporters Without Borders hails a ruling by Iceland's supreme court on 24 April ordering Valitor — Visa's local partner in Iceland — and formerly called Visa Iceland — to resume processing online donations to WikiLeaks within two weeks or thereafter pay a daily fine of 6,830 dollars until its complies.

"This is a victory for WikiLeaks and freedom of information," Reporters Without Borders said. "The arbitrary blocking of payments put in place by financial service companies was completely illegal and has now been condemned as such by a country's highest court.

"We hope that this ruling will put a stop to the controversial decisions that Visa has been taking until now in connection with WikiLeaks and that Visa will instruct all of its partners and subcontractors around the world to comply. It would be strange, and unacceptable, if only Valitor were obliged to provide a service to WikiLeaks in Iceland while all the other subcontractors, including those in the rest of Europe and the United States, were not.
