If you throw a sausage on to your front lawn every day, some local dog will come and get it. You can throw out three dozen sausages on the first of each month. . But, you will miss out on the daily visit from that one dog. instead every month a different bunch of scavengers will invade your lawn. You cannot count on them, you can not study them to understand what breed they are, or any of their habits. You do not get the chance to look and learn exactly what they like. . . Unless you deliver the sausages daily.

I think maybe some websites or blog's are like this. A sausage a day will find you regular visitors.

Not that I am recommending you post an image of a different sausage every day on your web pages. Although that could end up with a fascinating collection of sausages. I merely mean to express the observation that users will keep on calling back (sticky web site) If you metaphorically throw a sausage out every morning. . or even one on the back lawn and one on the front.
