Now, it wasn't me who said that, "I think it's going to be a lot of fun"! It was Matt Cutts, the Google Spamfuhrer. See Matt's blog post dated 13 May. If Matt thinks it will be fun, then you can guarantee that SEO experts will not!

Matt is singing the same old song, "Up with quality content, and down with spammy links!" This is not good news for small webmasters, because only the "big boys" can afford to pay top writers to churn out lots of quality content. This is not good news for SEO professionals, whose job is to put websites at a higher position in serps than their content really deserves. Basically, an SEO expert's job is to cheat Google to get good serps, and Google is strangling the ways to cheat.

Don't expect to find magic tips to beat Google on SEO forums. Matt has made it clear that his team read these forums. They will counter any magic techniques that they hear about. Matt's team also read the Blackhat forums. If any packages to beat Google are advertised, you can bet that Google will buy them, reverse engineer them, discover their footprints, and counter them.

So what can you do, if you really need to cheat? Firstly, you have to develop your own unique method to beat Google. That will take considerable brains. Then you have to restrain yourself, and never, ever, boast about it. That will take considerable self-control. But employing an SEO expert will not work any longer.

Does professional SEO even have a future? Actually it said rel = publisher but since my rel = author is not working, I surmised this won't work.

domain.example.com

Before I added mobile version, rel = author was being validated.

Since it no longer is I went with example.com/mobile path since this works on another site.


What I did was remove the rel = author from domain.example.com and did 301's for all files.

It is still not working.

What do you recommend be done?

Then over night we vanished for it, i have checked through the first 30 pages and can not find us anywhere. We still rate fairly well with google for most of our other main search terms such as timber cabins and cabins in lincolnshire.
Any idea what would have made this happen, i do not think we have spammed the site with the search term however google may have seen it differently.
