Hi, now to the forum.

I am in the process of adding affilate marketing to my site.

I joined Link Share, and I was rejected by almost every affilate that is associated with Link Share.

Not sure why, as I met all of the requirements.

I'm thinking maybe it is because I'm Canadian, with a Canadian business.

Can anyone suggest any Affilate Marketing Network that accepts website, no matter what country they are from?

Thanks

Hi Tony,

If I had to take an educated guess as to why you were rejected, it wouldn't be because you are Canadian. I am Canadian and have been doing business on the net with various networks for several years now.

My guess would be that you were rejected because your website is hosted on a free site (geocities). Most affiliate programs will reject any affiliate applications when the affiliate's website is hosted on a free site, regardless of how good the website is.

The main reason for that is because putting your site on geocities shows that you aren't really serious about making money with your website. Although you are probably very serious about making money, the general impression left by a geocities site is "This person can't even spend the $15 to register a domain, and the $15 per month on hosting, so why should I think they'll make money at all?"

My suggestion to you would be to move your site away from geocities to a paid host, get a proper domain for your site, then re-apply at the various affiliate networks.

Good luck!

Hi Tony,
I have to agree with Steven. As the manager of our affiliate program I find that most affiliates that have geociti sites really don't generate high quality leads and generally have a very low volume. Also, bear in mind the companies that you are applying to. Are the majority of them in the US? For example, we only target US citizens so I would question you as to how much of your traffic is from the US vs. Canada. You may want to personally write the affiliate managers of the programs you are being rejected from and plead your case. I always feel it's much better to have open and personal communication with our affiliate partners.
