Google seems to favor 'forums' for the key word phrase we seek.

So I'm going to try and get a forum going on our site. I know it is alot of work but I'm willing to give it a try.

I need a forum software package that can be spidered by Google. I took a look at a few packages and the most popular seem to be PHP. I'm not a programmer and neither is my partner, but he does know a bit about ASP.

I would appreciate your experience in telling me if Google can spider a forum that is ASP and other than speed what are the pros and cons of choosing a forum software and what features I need to seek out that will help Google find the forum and the posts.

Thank you,

I would recommend a PHP driven forum like VBulletin.

My firm specializes in configuring and managing forum sites. Send me a private message if you would like to see some examples of our work.

All are indexable... so take your pick.

phpBB is easy but the asp and cfm ones are just as good.

I use one from XMB http://www.xmbforum.com/ and all pages have always been grabbed by Google.

Are you sure? I see many with long SID numbers that don't get indexed by Google.

...a quick mod fixes that!

Would that be a mod_rewrite?

You could do it that way if no board support is provided but most come (or have available) board modifications.
