I really hate this new results on Google. There's no options and Google is displaying results 2 years older.

Well, could be because the page has ages with certain amount of backlinks in an active site for your specific keyword. As some of newer result also shows up but in a lower ranking position.

Select "Advanced Search" and then set the "date" - anytime, past 24 hours, past week, past month, past year.

Google and other SEs have always generated their SERPs based on algorithms that try to place authoritative relevancy first; and, current does not necessarily mean either relevant or authoritative.

Have you ever tried to find a version of the Declaration of Independence that is less than 233 years old? ;)
