Well, there are many good video blogging themes on wordpress.
To insert videos into your blog, download and install WP-FLV plugin.
But this plugin will support only flash video i.e only .flv format. Videos in any other formats have to converted into .flv format before inserting them into the blog.

You can check Moyea Web Player for broadcasting videos on wordpress. It can generate Flash video player with scrollable thumbnail playlist. So you can add a lot of Flash videos to the playlist.

With Flash currently being the predominant way to play video on the web (until HTML 5 gets more foothold), how do you envision to play video without Flash? The browser will need SOME plugin to play video and anything other than Flash (QuickTime, DivX, ...) is much less common.
Learn to tinker with your template, which you'll probably have to do anyway if you want to make it look right, then get a Flash player like JW Player or Flowplayer (more flexible, more features, but cost $$) or the one on flv-player.net (good enough for most things and free) and embed using SWFobject. Search for those as I can't post links yet. Done. No plugin needed, just some effort to learn.

Why host the videos on your site anyway? Why not create a youtube account, and let youtube host them for you for free. Then use a plugin to display youtube videos through wordpress. It's always possible that people will find your youtube videos, and this becomes extra promotion for you.

There are plenty reasons:
run your own ads on the videos
show content that would be banned or put behind a must-be-over-18 login screen on YT
get full analytics: how many people started it, watched it all the way through, skipped forward, etc.
show videos that are longer than 10 minutes
