Can Our Name Be Used as a Competitors AdWord?

Has anyone else ever had this happen? We have a website CrazyCoolDealz (http://www.crazycooldealz.com) and when you search for "CrazyCoolDealz" on Google, compeitors seem to have purchased us as their AdWords. Can they do this? Can they use our name as their AdWords? Is there anything we can do to stop them? We also have CrazyCoolDeals (http://www.crazycooldeals.com) and again, sponsored links from competitors. Any ideas or advice?

I'm not sure what you mean. I just ran a test on "crazy cool deals," "crazycooldeals," and the variants with the "z" -- and your websites come up first and I don't see an adword listing that seems to be tied to more than the word "deals."

If someone were using your domain name for their adword, naturally, you'd contact Google to protest it as it would be considered a copyright violation. However, the use of the individual words of "crazy," "cool," and "deals" or "dealz" wouldn't be.

Im not sure why they are not showing for you but when I do a search for "CrazyCoolDealz" or for "CrazyCoolDeals" on the right it says "Sponsored Links". Underneath the name itself like shown above right now there is one that says,

I have the same problem. My company name is Wedding Tales. The company is incorporated and I even have a trademark on Wedding Tales name. One of our competitors is using key term wedding tales in his Adword campaign and every time someone is looking for Wedding Tales, his ad appears under sponsored links. I complained about it, sent several emails, proofs about trademark violation, faxed copies of all my documents to their legal department and their official response was that they don't get involved in those matters and that I should resolve this by contacting my competitor my self.
Yahoo, on the other hand, removed his ads 24 hours after I sent them my letter!
