I am going to write my own wordpress Plugin (from scratch).
I am wondering if anyone here has had any experience doing this and if they can offer any suggestions.
I have been looking for some sort of comprehensive list of all the "hooks", "Filters" and "actions" and what they are used for.

... but if anyone is interested in WP development, the wordpress Codex (http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page) is the place to start.

Why is it spam if I ask the same questions in several places?
It seems like a good way to get different views and the best answers.
It is also a good way to find which web forums have clueless people who do not have their tech terms right -- LIKE HERE.

To answer your question, you might begin with a reading of the Parable of the Sower.

Then, reflect on the fact that, while quite ready and willing to receive, you show little interest in giving, so as to give rise to the question of why anyone should give to you.

Because you just had to type wordpress hooks filters actions (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=wordpress+hooks+Filters+actions&aq=f&aqi=&oq=) at Google.
It is also a good way to find which web forums have clueless people who do not have their tech terms right -- LIKE HERE.
I'm sorry you feel that way, however, that link to the wordpress Codex is about the best answer you are going to get.
